Santamaria, Ugrinic and Danjuma presented as new Valencia CF players
The three footballers, who are already under the orders of Carlos Corberán, shared their excitement and ambition for this new stage at Mestalla.
An early goal from Maxi Gómez at Las Gaunas was enough for Valencia CF to get past UD Logroñés in the Copa del Rey, and was the latest successful headed strike from the Uruguayan since joining the club last summer.
A player adept at getting onto crosses into the box, as Daniel Wass attested to after setting him up against SD Eibar, Gómez has an impressive range of goals with his head in 2019/20.
The numbers speak for themselves. So far in his career at Valencia CF, the forward has scored 8 times in official encounters. Four of these have been with his head. Previous to his cup exploits, Gómez had nodded the ball in against Getafe at Mestalla, against RCD Espanyol and against Eibar.
At the end of the game, he spoke about his goal and the challenges ahead.
"I'm very happy, because we won. The team deserved the victory; we played very well for the first 30 minutes and I hope we can continue with this dynamic," he told VCF Media.
"We know all about Barça, our opponents on Saturday. They are a demanding team. This win gives us a lot of strength to have a good game at Mestalla and go for the win."
